Prof. Valter Longo is an Italian-American biogerontologist and cell biologist known for his studies on the role of fasting and nutrient response genes on cellular protection, aging and disease. He is the founder and president of the Create Cures Foundation.

Longo is the director of the USC Longevity Institute and a professor at the USC Davis School of Gerontology with a joint appointment in the department of Biological Sciences. He also directs the laboratory of longevity and cancer research program at the Institute for Molecular Oncology (IFOM) in Milan, Italy.
